One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.


The primary focus of this position is to provide leadership and support for the work of primary care staff team.

The Manager of Primary Care is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality primary care services in keeping with the principles of client centered collaborative care.

The Manager of Primary Care provides direct supervision for the primary care staff team, currently comprised of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses and Midwives.

The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan, and an excellent group health benefits package.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Current or previous Registration as a Regulated Health Professional is preferred.
  • Masters degree in a health care discipline or additional relevant training is preferred.
  • Three to five year's management experience.
  • Experience in a communitybased primary health care setting is an asset.
  • Broad knowledge in the areas of communitybased primary care, the social determinants of health and health promotion.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities within an interdisciplinary team model of care.
  • Knowledge and experience in quality improvement processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a clientcentred approach.
  • Strong organizational, administrative and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
  • Experience in working effectively with culturally and economically diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a clientcentred approach.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQI+, newcomers, noninsured)
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required
