Job Description:
Responsibilities:
e-commerce Visual Content - 70%
- Assist the Photography Specialist in interpreting briefs, delivering photo guidelines, and coaching team to achieve desired output for new product categories and/or new brands
- Update guidelines, processes and tools to keep up with changes in art direction
- Monitor daily preps and shoots to ensure that the photo team is aligned and delivering top quality content that supports both the Studio's art direction and production targets
- Effectively articulate and communicate all lighting and equipment requirements within Art Direction briefs
- Research new ideas for product and/or brand presentation, providing the Art Direction Specialist with solutions to achieve desired output
- Maintain strict standards of quality control, staying uptodate with SSENSE art direction
Team Development - 30%**- Coach team on how to shoot simple to high complexity product categories while staying aligned to AD briefs (including special launches and activations)
- Influence, coach and mentor styling team through editing ensuring they create imagery that adheres to guidelines
- Collaborate closely with the Photography Lead to onboard new hires and freelancers
Qualifications:
- College diploma or BFA in Photography, or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years experience working as a photographer in an ecommerce studio
- Advanced knowledge of CaptureOne, Adobe Photoshop and image processing
- Advanced knowledge of photography & lighting
- Proven experience using digital cameras and professional lighting equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
Skills:
- Strong communication skills (both written and visual) to convey art direction to a team of creatives
- Ability to ideate and conceptualize quickly
- Conscientious of timelines and deliverables
- Ability to mobilize and motivate a breadth of employees, including nondirect reports, peers, and executives to achieve a goal
- Experience and desire to train and develop creative talent
