The City of Abbotsford's Operations Department is seeking an experienced professional to join their dynamic team as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II at the J.In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will be responsible for the technical and skilled work pertaining to the operations and maintenance of the J.S Wastewater Treatment Plant while assisting your team in the overall achievement of efficient operation of the wastewater treatment facility.
As part of your role you will operate and monitor all equipment throughout the plant while maintaining accurate operational and maintenance data in station and equipment logbooks.
Additional responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, data analysis and training of junior staff.To be successful in this position you will have thorough knowledge of secondary wastewater treatment, chlorination and dechlorination principles and practices, wastewater analysis procedures and the ability to interpret laboratory data and test results for efficient plant operations.
Your technical skill and your ability to work effectively in a team or independently will make you an asset to the team.
Environmental Operators Certification Program Chlorine Handler CertificateA minimum of 3 years' experience in the operations and maintenance of a secondary wastewater treatment facility
Class 5 Driver's Licence, with the ability to obtain a Class 3 Driver's Licence.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $32.79 per hour.
