Job Description:


Position Summary:


18 month maternity leave contract starting July 2023

  • Effective management of the accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and cash management functions.
  • Ensure accounting processes support the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required.
  • Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations.
  • Maintain systems and processes for recording, reporting, collection and remittance of commodity taxes and payroll withholdings in compliance with relevant legislation and contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate yearend procedures to ensure completion of financial reports and the audit within expected time frames.
  • Maintain compliance with MIS Standards, including incorporating updates to MIS reporting requirements in accounting processes and financial reporting.
  • Development and maintenance of accounting and financial policies and procedures.
  • Development and maintenance of internal controls.
  • Accounting for cash and investment balances.
  • Maintain appropriate cash and investment positions and preparation of cash flow projections.
  • Implement and maintain accounting and payroll related software and software interfaces with other modules.
  • Supervise support staff providing motivation, guidance and training. Evaluate work performance and initiate appropriate action.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/Finance (MBA preferred)
  • Accounting Designation
  • Minimum two years Hospital based financial experience
  • Minimum five years financial management experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of accounting software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and change management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced technical abilities
