PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Key accountabilities include recruitment process support, data management and communications.

  • Posting of job positions on both internal and external career sites, including diversity partner and niche career boards.
  • Assisting Talent Acquisition Advisors in booking travel, coordination of job fairs and outreach initiatives; ordering of CP branded materials to support recruitment activities and events.
  • Organize, attend and participate in both internal and external career fairs.
  • Create innovative and creative recruitment ads and print ads to attract a strong talent pipeline.
  • Provide updates on CP social media account for recruitment purposes.
  • Working closely with Health Services and outside service providers to ensure completion of required preemployment processes including background checks, preemployment medicals, and other processes relevant to the hiring process.
  • Central inbox and folder management.
  • Management and processing of vendor invoices in a timely manner.
  • Report on KPI's and generate monthly, quarterly and annual metrics.
  • General human resources administration support to the Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Performs other duties, as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Post secondary diploma.
  • 13 years related experience, preferably supporting a unionized workforce.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to frequently changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, as a part of dispersed HR team.
  • Ability to exhibit discretion in handling confidential / sensitive information.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • Being organized is a must as is strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive matters.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP or an equivalent HRIS system is an asset.

WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:


  • This is an hourly position for a 6 month term.

Management Conductor Program:


Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CP.

You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
