The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Human Resources and Payroll Team based in our Edmonton Head Office location.

This role focuses on the administrative tasks and requires strong attention to detail, communication and ability to meet tight deadlines.

This position works directly with a team of five HR and Payroll employees and supports multiple sites across Alberta.

The HR Coordinator will support the day to day administrative tasks of the department such as file management, creation of employee documents and letters, benefits administration and payroll support.


  • HRIS entry's: new hire information, employee changes, employment verification letters, letters of portability, terminations, and transfers of employees, wage changes, supervisor changes, LOA's, and maintain phones numbers, addresses, and emergency contacts up to date.
  • Onboarding and offboarding administration: create offer letters, ensure new hire paperwork and onboarding is complete, arrange training for new staff, create termination letters, coordinate with payroll and HRBP for coordination of final pay/ROE, update HRIS and documentation and close employee file, including uploads of all documentation.
  • Filing and document management, maintain a wide variety of confidential payroll information, accurate and uptodate employee records and documentation online and in the filing room.
  • Administer company benefits program and RRSP enrollment and terminations.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations, compensation review and employee reward and recognition programs.
  • Support inquiries regarding payroll, group benefits, and RRSPs, HR policy and procedures.
  • Conducts research on industry best practices, HR trends, and assists with HR Projects.

Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements

  • Postsecondary education with a focus in HR or Payroll an asset
  • Healthcare or similar industry experience is an asset
  • Travel within Alberta (<10%) to visit sites is required
  • A current and clear Criminal Record Check

Wage/Benefits

  • Salary range is $40k50k annually for 37.5 hours a week
