The salary range for this position is:

Recruitment range:
$70,137- $77,330 starting salary
determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.


Performance range:
starting salary to max of $91,214 is
available through annual performance increases.

  • Job SummaryThe Coordinator reports to the Director, Health, Safety & Public Relations and works in collaboration with members of the Health Safety & Public Relations unit including other Program Coordinators, office and technical staff, academic instructors, steering and/or advisory committees, external organizations and communities, professional certification bodies, and allied university staff. The position is responsible for participating as a team member, and building and maintaining stakeholder relationships for innovative programs that serve the portfolio's target market.


The Coordinator is responsible for the administration and delivery of courses and programs within the Health, Safety & Public Relations unit offered through the Division of Continuing Studies, and is responsible for identifying market needs, program planning, course and program development and delivery, and overseeing administrative activities.

Programming is offered on-site and through online delivery. The Coordinator is also responsible for instructor recruitment and supervision, marketing and budget administration.

Programming within this portfolio may change based on departmental goals and community demands.

The unit's overall programs and courses currently includes:

  • Health Community Courses
  • Health Professional Programs
  • Microcredentials in a variety of health, safety, and workplace learning topics
  • Customized and International Programs in a variety of health, safety, and workplace learning topics
  • Certificate Program in Environmental and Occupational Health
  • Certificate Program in Adult and Continuing Education
  • Diploma Program in Public Relations
The Coordinator will be responsible for a variety programs and courses associated with these topics.

  • Job RequirementsThis position requires a level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a health related field of study or Adult Education, plus a minimum of 3 years' of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

  • Ability to collaborate successfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the university.
  • Knowledge of university organization would be considered an asset as would knowledge of the postsecondary system.

Other:

  • This position involves occasional evening and weekend work hours and some local and longdistance travel to coordinate partnerships and course delivery. A Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle on an occasional basis is needed.
  • There is travel to locations outside of Victoria for meetings and conferences.
