Production Supervisor
We are a North American Leader in the Fabrication sectors with operations across Canada, and the USA.

We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing steel components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining, energy, heavy truck and industrial sectors.


Production Supervisors are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the production floor assigned to them, including adherence to production schedules, operating within budget and effective management of all production associates and related activities.

The Production Supervisor will report to the General Manager or Production Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Exercises supervisory control over the company's day to day production activities, including but not limited to the planning, assigning, directing and coordinating of activities relating to shift operations, safety, quality, production, training and employee relations.
  • Supervise production team Associates and provide direction regarding work objectives and expectations.
  • Analyze work orders to determine production schedules
  • Tracks and reports daily production; and drives improvements where necessary.
  • Ensures that shift production reporting is processed accurately and on time.
  • Works to improve first run capabilities by identifying repeat offender(s) and developing corrective action.
  • Participates, leads and monitors process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, 5S, lean manufacturing, etc.
  • Follow ISO 9002 quality standards and procedures, and ensure that finished products meet established quality requirements.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes.
  • Assists in determining and managing appropriate manpower requirements.
  • Trains new and transferred employees on their job duties and responsibilities; and cross trains as necessary.
  • Collaborates with the Department Manager and Human Resources Manager in the administration of disciplinary action, when necessary.
  • Ensures timely completion of performance reviews based on established schedule.
  • Provides timely feedback on work performance and makes recommendations regarding future work assignments.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate associates to achieve departmental goals.
  • Responds to, and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.
  • Takes an active part in the division's safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division's safety goals.
  • Ensures all Company policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are consistently adhered to.
  • Monitors, maintains and records employees' time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies (e.g. vacation, medical day, bereavement, jury duty, etc.).
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement and assists in its implementation on an ongoing basis implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve plant productivity.
  • Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals in support of business objectives.
  • Comply with duties, responsibilities and requirements as outlined in the company handbook and OHSA.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of production supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably Fabrication.
  • Prior experience with metal cutting, forming, welding (manual and robotic) and machining
  • Ability to establish goals and guide strategic and operational planning.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to clearly communicate a vision, educate individuals and teams, and influence decisions
