Business Controller (Project Assignment months)

Key accountabilities


Your mission is to lead the Finance, Credit and Purchasing functions of Atlas Copco Compressors Canada, including providing leadership of financial management systems, financial reporting requirements, tax planning, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and return on investment.

You will be responsible for implementing analysis tools and KPIs for the operating teams and actively be involved in the maintenance of SAP to be fully efficient.

As Business Controller you will report to the President - General Manager.

You will be a key member of the local Canadian Management Team and will be a driving force for the Company's overall performance and image.


Please note that this 12-24 month Project Assignment is based out of the Compressor Technique Canada head office in Saint-Laurent, Québec.

Main responsibilities include:


  • Providing leadership over the local Purchasing, Credit and Finance team in the form of performance management, setting targets and distributing workflow
  • Taking care of the legal aspects of the business;
  • Working closely with the Internal Service Providers
  • ACBS, Financial hub;
  • Ensuring that the company has an efficient internal control environment to protect the Company's assets;
  • Working with the General Manager in developing the business strategy and plan for our local Compressor division business lines (Oilfree Air, Industrial Air, Compressor Technique Service)
  • Collaborating with the Atlas Copco Group to develop new business opportunities such as the development of sales and profitability via local acquisitions;
  • Ensuring leading business indicators and highlights/red flags are produced to support the management team in steering the business;
  • Providing business control support to our operations and perform ad hoc analyses on financial KPIs for Service and Engineering;
  • Participating, preparing and delivering presentations to our Company, Business Review and Executive meetings;
  • Oversee and support all building lease contracts related to our operations and warehousing;
  • Undertaking any projects relating to the company's finance and accounting
  • Comply with the organization's environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards.

Requirements:


  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar academic background
  • Previous experience in business control
  • Has a genuine interest in all aspects of the business operation, and an ability to lead projects in the area of business control.
  • Proactive and highly motivated professional with a drive for problem solving
  • Experience within a sales and service operations environment;
  • Experience in working with MS Office, SAP and BPCS;
  • Excellent leadership and proven people management skills.
  • High level of accounting knowledge (FAM, IFRS and GAAP) with the capacity to develop a solid understanding of the products, market, sales process and how these processes work within the structural regulatory framework established within FAM;
  • Excellent knowledge of English language with willingness to learn French;
  • Canadian taxes knowledge will be a strong asset
  • Worked within an engineering environment or with acquisitions an asset
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Special Conditions:


  • Some travel required to our other branches across Canada (New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia).

Votre mission est de diriger les fonctions Finance/Crédit et Achats de l'organisation, notamment en assurant la direction des systèmes de gestion financière, des exigences en matière de rapports financiers, de la planification fiscale, de la budgétisation, des prévisions, de la planification stratégique et du retour sur investissement.

Vous serez responsable de la mise en œuvre d'outils d'analyse et d'indicateurs clés de performance pour les équipes opérationnelles et participerez activement à l'entretien de SAP pour être pleinement efficace.

En tant que contrôleur d'entreprise, vous vous rapporterez au Président - directeur général.

Vous serez un membre clé de l'équipe de direction et aurez un impact sur la performance globale et de l'image de l'entreprise.
