Bring your analytics expertise to the City of Edmonton as a Performance Analyst._**Reporting to the Supervisor of Business Performance & Analytics, the Infrastructure Maintenance Performance Analyst provides strategic, analytical, and financial performance support to the section leadership.


The primary strategic focus of the role is to lead projects and ensure the alignment of the reported measures with the Corporate Asset Management Plans, Program Asset Maintenance Plans, and the Enterprise Performance Management Framework.

Through this work, the incumbent will be expected to formulate Key Performance Indicators that are consistent across multiple programs within the Infrastructure Maintenance section.

The analytical lens of the role requires the incumbent to perform data analysis, design scalable solutions by utilizing analytics software (Tableau, Looker Studio, Google Sheets, etc.), implement internal auditing tools to support the leadership with accurate data and allow for data-driven decision-making.

The role also serves as the primary contact for all questions related to the monthly or year-end financial analytics for the Business Integration Financial Team as well as Business Financial Analysts from the Financial and Corporate Services department.

  • Implement complex analytical initiatives aimed at supporting Branch, Department, and Corporate service delivery and/or process modernizations and improvements
  • Design effective and userfriendly data visualization solutions using analytical software (Tableau, Looker Studio, Google Sheets, etc.)
  • Develop standardized data governance and management processes and procedures to effectively and efficiently maximize the use and reporting of data management systems
  • Work with leadership to identify, measure, and validate key performance indicators that provide information on the improvements identified and implemented within the section and branch
  • Lead the validation, implementation, and maintenance of other key section and branch initiatives and projects related to reporting and data management
  • Validate, redesign, and improve existing analytical solutions to optimize performance and enhance enduser experience while catering to the evolving business requirements and ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Develop Enterprise Performance Measures and ensure their alignment with the corporate and branch services
  • Continuously monitor and audit data quality, both operational and financial, and recommend/incorporate corrective measures/improvements
  • Supporting the section leadership with the monthly and YTD unit and section performance summary
  • Lead the development of annual recommended reporting improvements and elevate assessment of operational performance through the lens of financial and accomplishment results
  • Plan, prepare materials, and lead workshops to understand challenges that the users experience in terms of the availability of data related to Maintenance Management, training, and other adhoc requirements
  • Demonstrate understanding of highly technical information/systems as well as the needs of end users and ability to synthesize the information from multiple sources and develop custom solutions for the section
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Data and Information Management, Business Administration or a related field is required
  • A minimum of four (4) years directly related working experience in Data Analysis, Reporting, and Performance Management is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of handson experience with SAP Plant Maintenance
  • Demonstrable experience working with information gathering, reporting, and presentation using tools such as Tableau, Looker Studio or similar data visualization tools is required
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite as well as the ability to learn, adopt, and utilize various Software tools and ERP systems such as SAP is required
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data for various audiences and communicating through written and verbal formats to senior management
  • Proven ability in statistical analysis, gathering and consolidating information, and analyzing data
  • Working knowledge of public procurement and contract management practices, as well as statistical techniques is desirable
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Cloudbased and Software as a Service (SaaS) systems is desirable
