How about keeping our vital transportation infrastructure —roads, highways and bridges — safe for B.Dawson Construction is a general residential and commercial contractor.
Our heavy construction, paving and aggregate production build the roads that connect our great province.We have been involved in many of the province's biggest and most important construction projects over the last several decades.
From the Sea-to-Sky Highway to the Coquihalla and Yellowhead highways, our teams have put shovel to dirt from north to south through high-mountain passes and coastal rainforests.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a permanent, full-time position of Superintendent, Paving reporting to the Senior Project Manager.
The Superintendent of Paving will be responsible for all onsite facets of the paving process including; safety, quality, roadworks, cleanup, and commissioning and handover to the client.
Provide management and direction to foremen and paving teamA strong knowledge of paving best practices
Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure schedules and budgets are being met
Knowledge of all types of heavy equipment
Attend and participate in all safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site
Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions
Review and adhere to project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met
Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately
Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required
Recommend ways to improve production, quality, and crew performance
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the Asphalt, Paving, or related discipline
Experience with Heavy Job an asset
