Major Duties/Responsibilities
QUALITY & SAFETY
- Overall responsibility to lead the Health and Safety program at the Brockmann's facility. People safety is our #1 priority.
- Work with the Foleys/Brockmann's Safety Officer to actively promote workplace safety and achieve safety related KPI's.
- Support the QA Department in the successful certification of all current or required food safety, sustainability, social audit, and customer protocols (SQF, QAI, Kosher etc.)
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures in maintaining a food & people safe work environment.
MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONS
- Lead the operations with a focus on our 4 mantra's People and Food Safety, GMP's, Quality and Productivity
- Responsibility for the development and execution of operating plans for the plant
- Ensure highly efficient operations are established within Corporate and Regulatory guidelines.
- Oversee the development and control of plant's annual operating budget.
- Manage and monitor all labour spends (permanent and temp or agency supplied) to targets.
- Manage the achievement of annual safety, quality, customer service and cost targets.
- Analyze performance, recommend and implement methods for productivity, safety and quality improvements
- Lead and facilitate effective problemsolving and be the key decisionmaker.
- Create a work environment that enables all employees to perform safely and effectively and to make a contribution to the organization.
- Leadership of the plant at all levels understands this objective and provides the direction, coaching, support and motivation to achieve the desired KPI's.
- Implement practices to enable high level of employee engagement.
- Recruit, assess, and develop a plant team capable of driving productivity and lowering costs.
- Assure a robust continuous improvement process prioritizing and delivering targeted results with a focus on reducing costs and increasing return on capital.
- Support other departments such as R&D with new product innovations and production capability assessments for future new product launches.
- Coordinate proactive and reactive maintenance utilizing both inhouse and thirdparty resources.
- Performs such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities
- Strategic leadership change agent with the ability to develop a competitive advantage
- Must have excellent organizational skills to organize and manage multiple priorities

- Knowledge of the budgeting process and cost controls
- Working knowledge of and experience with Lean or Six Sigma an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

- Proficiency in computer programs/software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and related ERP/MRP systems
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Experience: 6-8 years in food operations including at least 4 years in a plant or facility leadership role
