- Analyze blueprints, plans, specifications, bid forms, scope of work, and schedules provided by clients.
- Conduct material take-offs from structural and architectural drawings.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractors, suppliers, and other installers based on criteria such as price, quality, service, support, and scheduling.
- Prepare final bid and supporting documents for submission to clients, including tender forms, bid forms, lead and quote letters.
- Manage the estimating project from initiation to completion, addressing any arising issues related to bonding, logistics, and schedule.
- Minimum of two years of Canadian construction estimation experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of revenue, cost, gross margin, and cash management, as well as contracts and supplementary conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (MS Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Knowledge of estimating and engineering software such as Fabtrol, Revit, SDS/2, Tekla, AutoCAD, or similar tools is an asset.
- Educational background in engineering, architectural technology, civil technology, or construction management is considered advantageous.
