Position Summary:
Macdonald Campus Athletics and Recreation is looking to hire Watersports Attendants to work at Paddle Mac.

Located on the Macdonald Campus in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Paddle Mac rents stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks and canoes to the general public and the MAC community.

The Watersports Attendant will facilitate the rental program by dealing with patrons, allocating equipment, and ensuring that all safety protocols and program procedures are followed.

If also instructing, the Watersports Attendant will have a firm understanding of the skills needed to teach basic paddling. This position is covered by the AMUSE collective agreement.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checksin patrons and ensures payment has been made.
  • Gets equipment ready for all patrons (boat, lifejacket, and paddle)
  • Ensures that patrons adhere to all safety protocols and program procedures.
  • Confirms all equipment handed out is in good working condition.
  • Coordinates the daytoday operations of the program and schedule.
  • Guides the paddling lessons (if certified)
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • First Aid and CPR C certification
  • Pleasure Craft Operator Card;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, motivation, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Certification or specialized training in paddle sports, an asset
  • Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where daytoday duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
