    Description

    The RROX Truck scale operator reports directly to the RROX Foreman or Superintendent. This key operator position is responsible for proper scaling of trucks and communication to the sales loader operator and dispatch group. You are required to promote a "team environment" and participate in all work processes associated with the site at which you are located. In this role you will be the front line representative for RROX.

    This position is full-time seasonal employment with a typical shift of 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Saturday. You may occasionally be asked to work outside those hours.

    Responsibilities:

    Your primary job responsibilities are to provide customer service while creating sales tickets for customers. Other responsibilities include the following:

    • Using our computer systems to to record the weights of incoming and outgoing vehicles and all necessary documentation (product code, customer name, job site, delivery address, truck name/number, & GVW).
    • Communicate with the sales loader operator that a truck is entering the yard, and for which product, as well as what legal weight they can carry.
    • Monitor that drivers are respecting the speed limits.
    • Provide a current road use agreement to all truck drivers that leave the facility
    • Answering the RROX phone in a polite manner, to answer customer questions, take aggregate orders, or direct the customer in the right direction.
    • Customer follow ups with problems/issues and or satisfaction, provide follow up with Technical Sales Specialist.
    • Ensure credit card information is handled responsibly and cash is provided to the superintendent nightly.
    • Ensure tickets are provided to the main office daily.
    • Maintain a clean truck scale, shovel snow, sweep material.

    You will work closely with the Foreman or Superintendent to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the facility. In order to be successful you must be familiar with all on site equipment, improvements and upgrades of this equipment and any environmental impact the operations may incur. This is critical in order to accomplish work and to utilize our resources in an efficient manner.

    You may be required to work with other departments such as Trucking and the Safety Department and Sales Team.

    You will ensure our company culture promotes respect in the work place and that we adhere to the rules and regulations for Alberta Occupational Health and Safety , Alberta Human Rights and Workmen's Compensation Board and any and all other applicable rules and regulations.

    • Ensure completion of all safety documentation.
    • Assist in Investigations of incidents involving RROX Operations, ensuring corrective actions have occurred.
    • Report and record all incidents to your direct report and safety department.
    • Participate in monthly inspections of sites as per company policy.
    • Ensure traffic safety rules are adhered to.
    • You will receive the necessary training required to safely carry out your duties in the position.

    Requirements

    • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's license (non GDL) and a clean driving abstract (5 year commercial)
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical (fit to work) examination
    • Previous customer and/or administrative experience is an asset
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
