Prestige Recruiting Solutions has partnered with our client, a leading high-volume residential building developer, to recruit for an
IT Support Specialist based in
Markham, ON.

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to administer IT functions for a pool of 40-50 users and growing. This position involves servicing users in-house as well as remote staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working and talented individual to grow with an established and expanding business.

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and devices.

This includes installation of hardware and software, and actively resolving problems and issues with computer systems to limit disruptions to the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Keep inventory of all IT equipment (PCs, laptops, printers, mobile phones and related equipment), software, and license users
  • Installation and configuration of Windows OS, including updates, licensing, encryption, drivers, wired/wireless internet connection, security procedures and backup
  • Perform all adds, moves, and terminations for all internal users, including password changes, rights and access, user setup and deletion, and
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new users
  • Monitor device status, analyze trends, threat detection & routine performance verifications
  • Provide timely and effective responses to all incidents, outages and requests from employees
  • Multitask and prioritize incidents based on operational impact
  • Diagnose, resolve, and document technical hardware, and software issues in person or remotely
  • Communicate with users, management and staff of each department/office/site to ensure that quality service is provided
  • Maintain knowledge of company technologies, devices and procedures.
  • Act as Point of Contact for all internal users
  • Help to prepare and maintain basic technical documentation, procedures and diagrams
  • Assist in the selection, implementation, testing and roll out of new IT solutions and provide training and support to endusers, as necessary
  • Assist in developing and implementing all IT policies and procedures, including those for security, disaster recovery, purchasing, etc.
  • Assist with website content management
  • Will occasionally be required to take afterhours emergency support calls

Applicant Requirements:


  • 2+ years' experience in an IT Operations/technical support role
  • Educational level: DEP/DEC/BAC Computer Science or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Windows OS in a corporate environment.
  • Indepth knowledge of a wide range of software and hardware products, especially Microsoft products, Adobe and QuickBooks
  • Experience with iOS and Android mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with security tools, techniques, and concepts
  • Ability to work independently under mínimal supervision as well as on a team.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong willingness and drive to learn.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Experience:


  • IT Operations / technical support: 2 years (required)
- website content management software: 1 year (preferred)

  • Construction management software: 1 year (preferred)
