Senior Engineer Transformation PM - Canada - Celestica
Description
This role is a unique blend of project management expertise leading engineering/design teams in transformational projects, continuous improvement (CI) leadership and best practice creation/deployment.
You will leverage your technical background and project management skills to lead and manage complex projects to drive CI and to capture/improve/deploy processes for our global Design/Engineering teams.
Your focus will be on ensuring successful project delivery within budget, schedule, and quality constraints, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Manage and lead multiple high-visibility programs with complex technologies, organizational structures, and business impacts.Lead cross-functional, global core teams, kicking off programs, scheduling, and driving project objectives and project meetings.
Manage program budgets, forecasting actuals against plans/quotes for income/revenue, cost/labor & expense.
Identify and mitigate program risks and issues, implementing corrective measures.
Coordinate project interdependencies and optimize resource utilization across projects.
Manage key program documentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvement to optimize performance, meet best practice standards, simplify and/or improve quality in our engineering teams, tools and processes globally.
Continuously assess and improve program strategy deployment and CI culture building.Stay current on industry best practices in program/project management and CI, integrating new ideas into program execution.
Participate in cross-functional projects focused on problem-solving and eliminating waste.
11 to 14 years of experience in engineering and/or program/project management.
~ Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
~ Proven track record of successfully leading and managing complex engineering programs or projects.
~ Demonstrated experience in implementing Process Improvement and CI methodologies within projects or programs.
~ Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile) and CI principles.
~ Technical skills relevant to the specific program/project domain (details will vary based on specific opening).
Engineering experience in Design and or Test development is a strong plus.
