Description
Orthodontic Clinic is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic Accounting Manager to join our growing company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and administrative department.

You will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems.

Responsible for all financial functions of the company, including:

  • Manages the overall direction and evaluation of the Accounting/Finance, Operations, & HR Departments.
  • Developing internal control procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly invoicing/billing, customer credits, and collections
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, journal entries and reconciliations for all accounts
  • Maintain Fixed asset records
  • Capital Asset Continuity Schedule
  • Manage cash disbursements and perpetual inventory integrity
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual report
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, capital expenditures, products costing etc.
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Process biweekly payroll in a timely manner

Requirements:


  • Postsecondary degree, and CPA designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or Accounting Manager role
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Sage and Quickbooks accounting software
  • Must have advanced excel skills
  • Exceptional financial reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, and analysis skills
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, problemsolving and prioritization skills with the ability to multitask effectively while meeting challenging deadlines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Canadian GAAP accounting policies and procedures
  • Strong leadership qualities and communication skills

Terms of Employment:

  • This is a fulltime position that is required Monday through Friday
  • This is a salaried position that is based on experience and qualifications
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance
