Job Summary:

The Intelligence Analyst is responsible for conducting research and analysis and for the production of analytical reports and products.

This is done according to defined objectives in support of investigations and the provision of intelligence to internal and external clients and decision makers.


  • Provide analysis to support the achievement of defined analytical requirements.
  • Produce analytical intelligence products on current and emerging issues, with a nexus to Canada, in response to requirements established by management.
  • Attend and/or provide support to briefings directed towards decision makers, foreign officers and other government clients.
  • Collaborate with key partners and support the provision of advice and content to various forums engaged in research and analysis, or requiring information.
  • Understand and communicate client needs and government requirements, and through the analysis of ongoing investigations, identify gaps and opportunities as well as provide recommendations.
  • Participate in the design and delivery of presentations on topics of expertise.
  • Participate in the peer review of analytical products; review draft reports and provide recommendations for enhancement/correction.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge and expertise, and keep apprised of developments in relevant threat landscapes, geopolitical situations and operational events of significance related to assigned area.

Education:


  • Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of experience
  • College diploma and four (4) years of relevant experience*The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.


NOTE:

Any higher level of education (for example: Masters, Doctorate) in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.


Experience:


  • Relevant experience is defined as:
Experience researching, integrating, evaluating and analyzing information and data to create analytical products or intelligence assessments.

Assets

  • Experience performing research and analysis and/or drafting written documents on one of the following: defence, intelligence, global affairs, policing.
  • A proficiency (reading / comprehension) in a foreign language.
