PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a full-time permanent Accounting Coordinator at our Pain Court, Ontario office.


You will work closely with other Accounting Department staff to ensure the general ledger and accounting entries are posted correctly, timely and completely.

This role will maintain computerized posting and reconciling systems of various general ledger accounts, preparation or periodic financial and regulatory reports, and leasing accounts.

Record financial statements to ensure accurate recording of transactions and reporting of financial matters for assisting management in monitoring and controlling operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Prepare general journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly and annual internal financial statements, and assist with all shareholding reporting, and preparation of year end working papers.
  • Maintain fixed asset sub ledger.
  • Prepare monthend account reconciliations for AgReliant Genetics Inc and all interdivisional accounts and investigate any unusual or inappropriate reconciling items.
  • Prepare reports and forms required for Sales Tax, Statistics Canada, and income tax relative to nonwage payments to individuals or companies.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the auto fleet. Duties involve the coordination of the procurement and sale of company owned and leased vehicles within company policies, proper licensing of all vehicles and be sure the company has all the necessary licenses and permits for its fleet.
  • Monitor orders and customer accounts and communicates information to RM and Sales Managers and acts as liaison with industry credit contacts.
  • Responsible for the valuation of all inventory products and dollar reconciliations. Perform various checks and balances with perpetual inventory and investigates any unusual item.
  • Responsible for calculation and submission of germplasm royalty reports to appropriate company by due dates.
  • Audit and prepare monthly/quarterly state sales and use tax reporting.
  • Work crossfunctionally with and support our business partners by providing financial insights and relevant reporting.
  • Provide support and assist with the company yearend financial audit.
  • Collaborate with team and business partners on financial reporting enhancements.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and testing of internal controls related to GL accounts, reconciliation, and certification.
  • Responsible for projecting a positive image of AgReliant Genetics and act in accordance with the Company's Core Values.
  • Backup/support for Payroll activities as directed.
  • Adhere to strict reporting deadlines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • University Degree in Accounting preferred, College Diploma in Accounting considered.
  • 5 years of general accounting experience including general ledger responsibilities.
  • Excellent Excel skills required.
  • Experience in Concur and SAP helpful, but not required.
