Salary, Allowances, and Benefits:
In addition to salary, you are entitled to an isolated posts allowance. This can range from $26, to $44, per year, depending on the number of dependants, geographic location and whether the accommodation is provided by the Crown. You are also entitled to vacation travel allowance of approximately $2, twice a year for you and each eligible dependant.
As a federal government employee, you will also receive a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan and health, dental and group insurance.
Duties
The Impact Assessment division guides sustainable development in Nunavut by fully participating in environmental assessments pursuant to Article 12 of the Nunavut Agreement and Parts 3 and 4 of Nunavut Planning and Project Assessment Act.
The successful candidate will manage the Impact Assessment Division and lead Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canadas participation in Nunavut Impact Review Board reviews for projects across Nunavut.
This requires management of Human and Financial Resources and the providing professional support, consultation, information and advisory services with respect to Impact / Environmental assessments.

Intent of the process
Immediate need: One full-time indeterminate position at Iqaluit, NU.
This process will be used to fill current vacancies and to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future opportunities (Deployment, Assignment, Secondment, Acting, Term or Indeterminate) in Nunavut only, with various security requirements (reliability or secret).

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.
Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience in managing human and financial resources.
Experience in the delivery or management of programs related to impact/ environmental assessment or resource management.
Experience collaborating effectively with industry, government, Indigenous organizations, non-governmental organizations, and the public.
