    The Opportunity:

    Join our clients team as a Design Engineer and contribute to their civil Engineering projects across Burlington, Kitchener, and London. This role offers the chance to impact various municipal development projects through innovative engineering solutions.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Performing design calculations that adhere to engineering principles and meet regulatory codes and standards for municipal development projects.
    • Generating plan and profile designs for municipal infrastructure, with a focus on municipal roadways.
    • Designing municipal corridors, water mains, centerline alignments, and functional roadways.
    • Conducting hydraulic modeling for water courses and creating infrastructure flood plain maps.
    • Developing alignments for water mains, sanitary, and storm sewers.
    • Sizing sanitary and storm water management facilities, and assessing SWM design and water balance impacts.
    • Liaising with municipal staff, contractors, public stakeholders, and equipment suppliers.
    • Preparing technical design reports and memos.
    • Participating in project team meetings and coordinating with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project outcomes.

    What You'll Need to Be Successful:

    • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
    • Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.).
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in municipal development projects working with a local municipality
    • Proficiency in relevant software such as HEC-2/HEC-RAS, GAWSER, MIDUSS, OTTHYMO, XPSSWMM, and MS Office Suite.
    • In-depth knowledge of underground servicing, municipal road design, and water resources principles.
    • Experience in the preliminary and final design of roads, bridges, and municipal facilities.
    • Capabilities in developing servicing, grading, and drainage designs.
    • Strong grasp of engineering principles, design standards, and their impacts on other fields.
    • Excellent technical report writing skills, alongside proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Exceptional time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with agency approvals, permitting processes, and design tools like Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
    • Experience with the application of trenchless technologies.
