THE OPPORTUNITY
There is an immediate opportunity for a PATENT CLERK to join the B&P team. This position will be supporting professionals in our Engineering group and will be primarily
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and file Canadian Applications (Convention Priority, Divisional and National Phase Entry)
- Prepare and file International (PCT) Patent Applications
- Review and report prosecution documents, for example examination requests and notices of allowance, to the client
- Prepare and file Office Action responses based on client instructions and guidance from the Professional
- Prepare prior art submissions and file with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office
- Prepare and send reminders and follow up with client when seeking instructions
- Draft and prepare correspondence for professional approval using precedents
- Oversee the updating of database with changes in client information
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring to B&P:
- 35 years experience relevant Patent experience;
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong team player who demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
