THE OPPORTUNITY
There is an immediate opportunity for a PATENT CLERK to join the B&P team. This position will be supporting professionals in our Engineering group and will be primarily


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Prepare and file Canadian Applications (Convention Priority, Divisional and National Phase Entry)
  • Prepare and file International (PCT) Patent Applications
  • Review and report prosecution documents, for example examination requests and notices of allowance, to the client
  • Prepare and file Office Action responses based on client instructions and guidance from the Professional
  • Prepare prior art submissions and file with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office
  • Prepare and send reminders and follow up with client when seeking instructions
  • Draft and prepare correspondence for professional approval using precedents
  • Oversee the updating of database with changes in client information
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to B&P:


  • 35 years experience relevant Patent experience;
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong team player who demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
