Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities & duties
- Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve and troubleshoot paper cup and packaging machines and other production equipment including printers, baggers, paper winders, labelers, printing cylinders, conveyors, packaging machines, balers, etc. under the supervision of the Plant Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform machine setup, adjustment and tooling changeovers
- Ensures operation of all production equipment by completing preventive maintenance and repairs on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and highspeed packaging machines, following drawings, diagrams, manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications and Plant Maintenance Supervisor's instructions.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment in a safe working condition; maintaining machine fluid level, lubricating necessary parts, changing worn out or damaged parts,
- Maintain an inventory of spare and critical parts to minimize equipment downtime
- Ability to react quickly to equipment downtime, troubleshoot and fix issues with a sense of urgency to meet production requirements
- May be asked to work at two different plants as needed
- Prepare standard operating procedures for machine maintenance and tooling changeover
- Ensure that all safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
- Always follow Food Safety and GMP guidelines and wear prescribed PPE's
- Perform other maintenance work and duties as needed to ensure a safe and reliable machine operation
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive experience in a food packaging environment with a high school diploma and/or trade license
- Knowledge and understanding of high speed and automated paper cup machines would be very beneficial
- Quick learner who is willing to build a longterm career
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and lockout procedures
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to successfully multitask in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to read manuals, drawings, and blueprints
- Excellent understanding and commitment to Health and Safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Environmental Standards
Salary:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Maintainance technician: 2 years (required)
