Legal Counsel to join our
growing team from our downtown Halifax location.
Reporting to Associate General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing
effective support and advice to the company on a range of legal matters.
As Legal Counsel, you'll get to:
- Drafting, managing and providing negotiation support on commercial leases and
- Providing legal guidance and advice on corporate matters, employment issues,
insurance claims, legal and administrative processes and procedures, and other matters
as they may arise.
- Completing, managing and providing support on corporate and property transactions.
- Overseeing corporate matters, including incorporations, annual renewals and
- Managing and overseeing litigation and legal disputes, including providing
- Assisting with policy and procedure review and development.
- Remaining current with developments in the law and proactively proposing
- Assuming responsibility for special projects and initiatives, as they may arise.
What we're looking for:
- 13 years experience in a law firm environment or in house legal department.
- Completion of law school with a LLB or JD.
- Qualified to practice law in Nova Scotia.
- Prior experience with commercial leasing would be an asset, but no experience in this
- Proven track record of problemsolving skills and informed decisionmaking.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Commitment to operate with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity on all files.
- Strong customer focus with dedication to teamwork and collaboration.
