This position is located at our London, Ontario manufacturing plant and is required to work night shift 11pm-7am.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to delivering packaging materials to the production department, production lines, consolidation of packaging materials, cycle counting, inventory sweeps and returning packaging materials to storage locations as well as operating packaging equipment and responsibilities including but not limited to filler, packer, labelers, quality checks, verifications, etc.

Adheres to company standards in key performance areas of Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery to the Customer.

This position works in a team environment and is required to assist others as necessary but must have demonstrated skills as a self-starter and be self-directed.

This position must ensure themselves and their team members follow all our ISO9001, GMP and EH&S policies and procedures.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Conduct multiple audits such as Behavior Based Safety, Gemba, ISO, Production Line Audits and report findings to Production Assistant Manager.
  • Operate lift truck equipment to transport materials in performance of loading, staging and storage functions in accordance with company and equipment operation procedures and regulations.
  • Receive incoming shipments while verifying material condition and quantities in accordance with standard procedures. Check carrier documentation prior to unloading to verify appropriate information.
  • Assist in the setup of the production lines; conducts daily machine safety checks and delivers skids of unused or scrap materials to appropriate designated areas.
  • Operate machinery and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and stage material for production lines and complete required paperwork.
  • Perform a variety of inventory functions including cycle count and inventory transactions using computer software.
  • Transport and warehouse materials received or produced to appropriate areas in the warehouse according to existing material recording system.
  • Maintain equipment and changes Forklift Batteries to ensure efficient operation of the vehicle.
  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous duties as assigned including
:

binding finished goods on pallets to prevent movement during transport, re-arranging and stacking pallets neatly, assisting in packaging on assembly lines and on-line clean up and dismantling of various operations/changeovers, etc.


  • Will cover duties for other team members during an absence.
  • Drive continuous improvement activity using lean tools such as leading root cause investigations, kaizen events and poke yokes.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Plant Management, Production Teams, and QA Technicians within Solenis.
  • Provide support to the plant with regard to waste minimization, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, and timely dispositions of returns, discrepant product and materials.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, multidisciplinary problem solving, teamwork, consistency, flexibility, execution, quality and effective communication.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the packaging equipment through general mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Handles daily equipment inspections, maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs setup duties as required to ensure equipment is prepared for production as per change over standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot equipment after setup and adjust as required to maximize efficiencies.
  • Setup and all filling, and packaging equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Cleans and sanitizes line equipment and change parts to meet Good Manufacturing Practices protocol.
  • Replenish equipment, and machines with required packaging supplies.
  • Perform all quality checks and audits as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Responsible for every aspect of quality on your line.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of handling / storing / and disposing of all chemicals and components
