The Opportunity:

This role is a unionized position and is part of the bargaining unit of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 772.

The purpose of the position is to assist the Electrician with the day-to-day operation of 99 Bank / 50 O'Connor and help ensure the facilities are maintained in a safe and comfortable environment.


What You Will Do:

Environment and Practices

  • As part of the Operations team, help maintain a safe working environment for all building occupants at all times.
  • Follow safe work practices while undertaking duties.
  • Conversant with all safety, fire and building codes.
  • Stay up to date on all applicable company policies and procedures.
Maintenance

  • Work with the Electrician to work with the electrical system
  • Perform tasks including, but not limited to, running conduit, installing low voltage wiring, installing lights, providing access for electricians and contractors
  • Help install and relocate equipment and components as assigned and with supervision.
  • Complete preventative and demand maintenance work orders as set out in the maintenance program, and keeps the Operations Supervisor and Electrician up to date on equipment condition or observations.
  • Ensure that the building maintains appropriate stock of supplies and material to maintain the building in optimal condition.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Operations

  • Participate actively during all emergency situations including fire alarms, fire drills, floods, mechanical breakdowns, etc.
  • Manage preventative maintenance and tenant request systems.
  • Support the entire operations team as a 'second set of hands' as required.
Customer Service

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Respond to tenant calls and maintain a professional conduct throughout all situations.
  • Cooperate with other trades to ensure that assignments are completed in the most efficient and timely manner.
  • Foster good tenant relations and maintain a clean, neat appearance at all times.

Who You Are:


  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Able to learn quickly

  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally. Able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with senior management, contractors, tenants and the public. Able to partner with clients to meet client needs. Should be selfmotivated, professional and flexible
