In-Scope


GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY


The Salvage Production Coordinator is responsible for the shop operations in the Salvage Production Area, this includes dismantling, forklift, warehouse, shipping and pretest.

This role provides training, technical advice, guidance, and monitors and reviews the work of staff in the production area.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Salvage Production- Oversees salvage operations of dismantling, forklift, warehouse, shipping and pretest.- Evaluates and resolves complex warranty issues and assists all staff in resolving warranty issues when required.- Makes technical decisions on products that require a higher degree of complexity.- Maintains shop area including equipment, racking and yard maintenance.- Evaluates and coordinates the purchase of new equipment as required.- Researches and evaluates new procedures for safer and more efficient production.- Assists with department budgeting process.- Ensures proper inspection requirements are placed on vehicles and takes corrective action if needed.- Inspects salvage vehicles to ensure that damages and conditions match the claim file information, makes necessary corrections as required.

Verifies the VIN number matches claims file information.- Handles spills and environmental cleanup.- Collects, analyzes and compiles data from various sources into reports as required.- Provides back up support to all managers.

Team Leadership (Auto Mechanic, Auto Tradesperson, Senior Auto Tradesperson)- Monitors and oversees the assignment of work.- Delegates, reviews and ensures quality of work. Provides input or participates in performance feedback.


TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS- Knowledge of the auto body repair trade and auto mechanic trade as it pertains to Salvage.- Knowledge of automotive parts, their inter-changeability, and automotive market and automotive market and automotive repair cost.- Knowledge of motor vehicle mechanical repair and sheet metal damage and vehicle estimation practices.- Knowledge of divisional and /or branch safety procedures.- Knowledge of inventory controls and warehousing procedures.- Knowledge of requirements for vehicle inspections and standards.- Knowledge of all automated systems utilized by Salvage.- Skill in testing, diagnosing and repairing recreational equipment.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS- Automotive Service Technician Journeyperson certificate.- Possession of a valid driver's licence.

EXPERIENCE years' directly related experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Effort and Environment:
Moderate physical effort which may include regularly lifting medium weight objects. Frequent exposure to unpleasant conditions which may include noise, noxious odours and inclement weather. Frequent driving within city limits and/or long-distance highway driving.

Sensory Attention:
Moderate periods of concentration on a variety of sensory inputs requiring close attention several times daily.

Mental Stress:
Moderate exposure to one or more mental pressures.


Pay Range:
$68, $86,004.00
