    Our local integrated architecture and buildings engineering practice brings together a highly motivated, dynamic, and diverse team of Architects, Interior Designers, Structural, Mechanical, Energy, and Electrical Engineers, Sustainability Specialists, and support staff.

    We are looking for a Senior Architect that will work closely and in collaboration with the principal-in-Charge, our clients and our colleagues.

    You will be responsible for leading the Architectural design, technical deliverables, and coordination of these projects, each with varying levels of complexity and scale.

    You will be working within fully integrated design teams throughout all project phases, from pre-design through to post-construction services.
    Projects typically include new construction, building additions or upgrades, building envelope upgrades, reports, and building condition assessments.
    Supports project teams in development of design documentation.
    Utilizes BIM technologies (Revit) in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
    Interprets and applies building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.

    Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.

    Coordinates building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks.

    Assists in the evaluation and selection of building systems and materials.
    Attends project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
    Implements sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment.
    Assists in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedents.

    Demonstrated ability to lead the development of Contract Documents, including drawings and coordinating specifications, from schematic design to construction documentation.

    Ability to assist with tendering process, issuance of Addenda, pre-bid meetings, bid evaluations, negotiations, and preparation of owner-contractor contracts.

    Ability to provide Contract Administration services, including meetings, Field Observations and Reports, preparation of Supplemental Instructions, Contemplated Change Notices, Change Orders, and Change Directives

    Ability to oversee the design intent/vision is maintained throughout the project, from conception through system and material selection, visualization, implementation, documentation, coordination, and construction.

    Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
    Strong knowledge and application of accessibility codes and applicable building codes.
    Strong knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards are expected.
    Strong understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
    Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
    Willingness to participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production.
    Able to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material.
    Excellent knowledge of construction costing and quantity surveying from cost planning through cost control.
    Excellent knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
    Excellent knowledge of construction procurement models, contracts, and delivery: Design-Bid-Build, Construction Management, and Design Building minimum.
    Ability to acquire required Security Clearances for a variety of institutional project types.
    Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD.

    Master's degree in architecture or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

    Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
