Permanent part-time, 8 hours per week, Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm


We are looking for a Community Living Worker to join our Sources Georgia House team This individual must be flexible, compassionate and a team player.

Description of position
Reporting to the Manager of Georgia House the (Position is a temporary/permanent employee of Sources Community Resources.


General Responsibilities:


  • Follow and participate in the development of individualized client programs, including support in the areas of daily scheduling, behaviour, communication, community, social skills, vocational skills, recreation, personal care, nutrition, sexuality, domestics, life skills, etc.
  • Teach and support the learning of functional skills in daily living.
  • Provide personal hygiene support for clients as required; including toileting.
  • Support clients in day programs/employment situations, community inclusion outings; swimming, restaurants, bowling etc.
  • Communicate with other professionals, family members, colleagues, and community members in a positive, professional manner reflective of the Society.

Program Specific Responsibilities:


  • Be punctual and responsible as it relates to reporting to work, completion of shifts, calling in because of illness or emergency.
  • Adhere to Sources Policy and Procedure Manual, program Operating Manuals, Licensing regulations, COA accreditation standards, privacy legislation and other relevant Acts and laws as appropriate to the service provided.
  • Participate in Sources' Continuous Quality Improvement process.
  • Serve on Sources' various committees when requested to do so.
  • Perform other related tasks as directed.

Qualifications:


  • Educational Requirements
  • Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and central data systems
  • Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written in English
  • Current Food Safe certificate (Training may be accessed through Sources)
  • Standard First Aid and CPR (Training may be accessed through Sources)
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (Training may be accessed through Sources)
  • Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract
