- Manage full cycle accounting functions at the consolidated and subsidiary levels.
- Manage/Review AP and AR processes internally and coordinate payments and follow-ups with our suppliers and customers
- Manage accurate and timely month-end close reporting requirements.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and prepare monthly financials for operating entities
- For the ongoing constructions, ensure proper coding of expenses and perform detailed comparison of actual vs budget
- For the commercial rentals, prepare annual CAM Cost reconciliation
- For the hospitality side, follow-ups and discussions with the managers to ensure they are stick to the budget.
- Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled on a monthly basis
- Ensure all the statutory filings and payments are made on time [GST, PST, Payroll, Corporate tax, WCB, WHT, UHT, etc]
- Prepare quarterly reportings as per the requirements of the banks i.e. liaise with banks to comply with loan requirements
- Support annual financial statement audit requirements i.e. liaise with external accountants to complete year-ends on time
- Report monthly consolidated financial statements and perform detailed budget to actual reviews.
- Develop accounting policies and controls as business expands.
- Assist and advice the accounting team as and when needed.
- Competency in MS Office
- Experience with Sage 50 and Sage 300 CRE is an asset.
- Accuracy and attention to detail with an aptitude for numbers
- Excellent organizing abilities.
- A complete or comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures
- Strong people skills – a polite and professional demeanor
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years' experience as junior accountant.
