Automation Control Specialist

Nordic Minesteel Technologies (NMT) is seeking a motivated
Automation Control Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for an ambitious position within a challenging and fast-paced environment.

  • Design and program existing and new products for NMT and SME
  • Build strong relationships with electrical distributors
  • Develop electric, electronic, networking and control system design solutions based on engineering principles
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers
  • Identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget
  • Specify system components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
  • Commission customized products and systems in house and at customer facilities
  • Participate directly in the design and development of technical projects
  • Maintain accurate records and files according to Company and ISO 9001 standards
  • Work directly with clients, providing services such as:
  • System assessment, feasibility studies, and master plans
- o Coordinating on project requirements and establishing project scope
- o Design of control systems and related aspects
- o

  • Design and program existing and new products for NMT and SME
- o System training

Requirements:


  • Technologist diploma in Engineering Technology (Electronic, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
  • 3+ years of industrial automation experience and electrical design
  • Proven experience in the field of robotics, automation, mechanical design, custom machinery, and/or control systems
  • Aptitude to conceptualize automation solutions to complex manufacturing challenges
  • Computer software/hardware/programming/automation/control experience
  • Sound knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic principals
  • Ability to read and create schematic drawings
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Electrical software, Industrial and mobile PLC software, and MS Office
  • Willingness and ability to travel without restriction both within and outside Canada
  • Valid driver's license
