Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Path Assistant II, MLT II and the Anatomical Pathology Supervisor, the Medical Laboratory Assistant I is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, but not limited to collections and/or specimen processing, quality management, troubleshooting, and general support.
Delivers customer focused service and provides reception, answers inquiries, and responds to requests for in information for patients and other health care providers.
Performs administrative duties such as filing, faxing, reports distribution and archiving when required. Documents and participates in the training and orientation of students and staff. Monitors, orders, rotates, distributes and stores supplies as applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned.Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in data entry. Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. Heavy lifting up to 25 lbs, capable of standing or walking for long periods. Able to work with and exposure to chemicals and gloves.
Preferred Qualifications:
Anatomic Pathology experience. Experience within the last 2 years preferred. Basic LIS and Microsoft computer skills.
