Warehouse Receiving Lead: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Summary

The Receiving Lead is responsible for managing warehouse receiving employees during the day shift to ensure an organized and efficient workplace, ensure receiving targets are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

The job incumbent will be expected to have a hands on involvement in the warehouse receiving function as well as train new hires for the department.

Responsibilities:

Supervise, motivate and lead the warehouse receiving team; create a positive and productive culture.
Develop and maintain a product flow work plan on a daily, weekly and monthly cycle to ensure timely receipt of goods in order to maintain a high level of service to our diverse group of wholesale customers.
Ensure responsible and courteous and timely service to customers, suppliers, and staff
Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures in accordance with the Ontario Health and Safety act.
Ensure the Maintenance of the warehouse facility and equipment including computer labelling systems, computerized receiving systems and material handling equipment by reporting any deficiencies to the warehouse supervisor/manager.
Training Employees on company policies and procedures
And any other assigned duties and responsibilities

Skills/Qualifications:

Must be a positive leader with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Must be organized, have attention to detail, sound judgement and ability to multitask
Knowledge and experience with inventory control practices.
Strong computer skills with solid experience with MS Office and warehouse management systems
High degree of adaptability; flexibility to change in a highly dynamic environment
Understand customer service
Able to understand the big picture and will know how to organize many different details, create a work plan and be willing to do what it takes to execute it successfully.
Strong drive to exceed expectations, complete tasks and influence improvements
Experience with: supervision, safety management, racking and bin locations systems, RF technology and forklift operation
Thorough knowledge of the standard procedures of receiving material and the related processing of paperwork
