Accounts Payable Administrator, Lead

D U T I E S
Reporting to the Manager, Transactional Services, the Accounts Payable Administrator, Lead will
oversee the day-to-day work of a small team of Accounts Payable Administrators and Accounting
Clerk that process all of the accounts payable functions of the Polytech. This includes, but not
limited to, conducting audit and approvals for all AP vouchers, coach and train new and current
team members on processes and procedures, respond timely to internal and external
stakeholders on various accounts payable inquiries, monitor the Maestro system for incoming
documents and workflows and help with the weekly payment processing by reviewing and signing
off on cheque and payment registers and help complete wire transfer payments. The incumbent
must have a solid understanding of applicable taxes and the requirement to self-assess taxes (if
applicable) to ensure compliance with CRA/MB Taxation. It is expected that the incumbent
continuously updates their knowledge of the various taxation systems through seminars, CRA
update reviews and other learning platforms. The incumbent will also review processes and
procedures to help find efficiencies in the account payable functions and workflows.

  • Post-Secondary diploma with an accounting major; a combination of education and experience

  • Experience in general accounting duties with the emphasize on accounts payable in a large

- computerized accounting system
  • Experience leading and coaching a small team, providing feedback and continuous training
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word and MS TEAMs)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within predetermined timelines
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and
continuous improvement
