    Title of Course

    VISA 3P26 Intermediate Darkroom Photography

    Continuation of analogue processes and techniques, emphasizing historic and contemporary modes of image capture. History of photography, critical analysis and photographic theory.

    Schedule: Winter Term Monday

    Delivery Method: face-to-face

    Compensation

    Effective September 1, $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
    Effective September 1, $14, per full course (390 hours nominally)
    Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

    Duties

    Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

    Qualifications

    1. MFA is required.

    2. Previous teaching experience of at least two years with analogue photography in darkroom laboratory at the university level is required.

    3. Extensive experience in historic photo processes and analogue darkroom production, lighting, non-digital camera use, equipment maintenance and safe handling procedures are required.

    4. Demonstrated knowledge of photography history and contemporary photographic practice is required.

    5. A record of professional activity with concentrated focus on photography (historic process/analogue/digital) and exhibitions demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.

    6. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level; and in the area to be taught are required by providing copies of recent teaching course/performance evaluations.
