CNC Machinist - Evening Shift
Reporting to the Subtractive Manufacturing Manager, the CNC Machinist is Responsible for CNC set up and operation, program editing including:

  • Machine set up and operation per setup instructions;
  • Machine maintenance and recordkeeping;
  • Maintain all cutting tool libraries / develop tool life;
  • Manual tasks by assignment;
  • Manual AM support removal and detailing;
  • Inprocess and final inspections by assignment;
  • Interpretation of drawings, manuals, specifications, etc;
  • Shopfloor programming and program editing by assignment;
  • Fabricate simple fixtures and work holding devises to support machining operations;
  • Shop cleanliness and organization;
  • Conform to all quality, safety, and human resource policies and procedures;

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
  • 1year college diploma or equivalent in related field;
  • Advanced training with CAD software (Siemens NX or equivalent);
  • Ability to set up and operate various CNC equipment (3 &5 axis milling machines, lathes, EDM);
  • Proficiency in mathematics, measuring tools, power tools, and finishing methods;
  • Familiarity with 5S;
  • Minimum 2 years experience with 2 and 3 axis CNC operation in a manufacturing environment;
  • Able to work in a fastpaced work environment while being detailoriented;
  • Excellent people and communication skills;
  • Understanding of G code and the ability to debug output;
  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physically demanding work;
Evening shift is from 4:00pm to 12:30am Monday to Friday with availability required for some weekends as needed.

Training for this role is provided during our day shift for approximately 2-3 weeks prior to moving to the evening shift.
