    Description

    We are currently looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Journeyperson Welder with the primary responsibility of welding of plant equipment and fleet vehicles.

    • Essential Functions

  • Interpret welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual welding equipment.
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment.
  • Plasma.
  • Determine weldability of materials.
  • Select filler rods.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Design and fabricate without drawings to come up with solutions to issues as they arise.

    • Knowledge / Competencies

  • Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must have valid driver license.

    • Work Environment

  • Work environment is varied including indoor shop environment, indoor and outdoor plant environment. Some work in confined spaces required.

    • Hours of Work

    The position requires a regular working schedule of 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday through Friday with a minimum requirement of 40 hours/week. Overtime, evenings and weekendswill be required at times.

Welders must be capable of performing repetitive tasks and may require extended periods of standing, crouching, crawling, or kneeling.

    Qualifications

  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Journeyman welding ticket
  • 4-5 years of prior welding experience
  • Confined Space and Fall Arrest tickets are an asset
