    VP Construction

    Central head office location – They are steps away from coffee shops, public transit, and Rocky Point Park.
    Oversee project schedules with PM's to maintain completion dates, activity durations and standardized layout
    Review change orders for all projects before they are submitted to client
    Support PM's at project meetings when required
    Review progress claim for each project before it is submitted to the client
    Read and initial all project diaries after President has reviewed and commented
    Review and comment on the minutes of all monthly site meetings
    Assist and/or take over projects from the PM's (i.e. at the beginning until they have finished another project , at the end so they can move on to another project or if the project is going sideways and it is in the best interest to replace PM)
    Do an annual performance review of all PM's and superintendents including proposed raises and forward to president for final review
    Submit an annual bonus recommendation for PM's, superintendents and all site staff and forward to the president for final approval
    Ensure project close-outs are performed in a timely fashion including a punch list prior to Substantial Performance to ensure the project is ready for inspection, as-builts, maintenance manuals, Certificate of Substantial Performance, deficiency list and final completion


    YOUR QUALITIES INCLUDE:

    Minimum 10 years experience as a Project Manager (at least 5 of those years in Canada) in the construction of industrial, commercial, and institutional projects.

    Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and expedite resolutions to challenges during all phases of construction.

    Strong ethics, communication skills (verbal and written) with excellent organizational, time management, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.

    Excellent contract document interpretation and blueprint reading skills.
    Strong leadership and team building skills with the proven ability to work with owners, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
    Working knowledge of project delivery methods including design build, construction management, and general contracting.
    Computer Knowledge and work experience with Auto-Desk, Excel, Word and Microsoft Project would be an asset.
    University, College or Technical Degree in Construction related disciplines or equivalent related experience.
