Description

The Opportunity

Do you enjoy building relationships and fostering community? Do you have working experience with Recovery Coaching or Motivational Interviewing that you would love to share with our men in recovery? Do you appreciate working in a faith-based environment? We are looking for a committed Christian to act as a coach, mentor and role model to the men in our Recovery Program working some evenings and on the weekend when the men have time to participate.

You will be a friendly, supportive and encouraging presence, seeking opportunities to speak with the men about various aspects of a recovery lifestyle and spiritual issues, and praying with them when that seems appropriate.

Ideally, your own personal journey will include the lived experience of going through recovery.

Sometimes you will need to respond to unusual situations or crises, such as substance use or resident conflict, in a calm and level-headed manner.

There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.

This is a
permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. For a copy of the full job description, please visit our website.

We offer a very competitive wage and you will qualify for extended medical and dental benefits after completing three months of employment.

A focus on employee resilience, support for professional development, engagement in meaningful work, and a fun and caring environment are all part of being a member of the UGM team.

If you are someone who desires to learn and grow, has a passion to serve and make a difference, and connects with others with both humility and humour, then you will be a great fit at UGM.
