    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Job Summary:
    The UW-Madison Office of PostdoctoralStudies is seeking an Associate Director for Skills Development. TheAssociate Director is a critical member of an office dedicated toenhancing the postdoctoral training experience at UW-Madison.

    In thisnewly created position, you will lead the design and implementation ofthe office\'s skills development portfolio, specifically providingtraining in three core competencies: 1) communication including grantwriting, 2) leadership and management, and 3) professionalism. You willcollaborate with subject matter experts within the university and beyondto create innovative and impactful non-credit training activities.

    Yourwork will help ensure that postdocs maximize their time as trainees andgo on to successfully achieve their professional and personal goals.

    The mission of the Office of Postdoctoral Studies is toenhance the postdoctoral training experience at UW-Madison by providinga suite of high quality and responsive engagement, representation,policy, and professional development services for the 1,100 postdocs whotrain at the university each year.

    The office serves all UW-Madisonpostdocs including trainees in 13 different schools and colleges, andacross the full breath of research and scholarly disciplines from thearts and humanities to the biological, physical, and social sciences.


    Responsibilities:
    Provides guidance for program planning,implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises outreach staff.
    Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stableand productive relationships between the university and community.
    Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, andeducational services to diverse audiences.

    30% Supervises theimplementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planninginitiatives and objectives 20% Develops and implements operatingpolicies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignmentwith the strategic plan 10% Monitors the unit or program budget andapproves program..
