    Dream is looking for an Accountant, Development
    We are always looking for the best and brightest to join our thriving community.

    Dream's Development Accounting team is currently looking for an Accountant to take charge of the full accounting cycle and ad hoc projects for several of our diverse and exciting development projects and investment properties.

    Over the 2+ years you've worked in real estate accounting you've proven that you are not afraid to think outside the box to find the best approach to achieve results.

    This is an opportunity for you to take on responsibilities, build on your already strong skill set and help your team achieve its goals, all in a work environment that is fast-paced, dynamic and fun.

    Prepare and process cash calls, assist in cash flow analysis, record and reconcile project capital to ensure sufficient project liquidity, and prepare bank reconciliations;
    Perform monthly calculations, reconciliations and recording of revenues, various fees, interest and commissions for each project;
    Record journal entries, maintain and reconcile general ledger, job cost and other JDE reports;
    Work with AP to ensure accurate and timely daily/weekly accounts payable processing for projects;
    Prepare monthly construction draw packages and assess costs incurred to budget;
    Maintain a working paper file for each project including support for GL balances and actual vs. budget analysis (training will be provided);
    Comply with internal controls at all times (training will be provided);
    Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting packages to senior management and external business partners (training will be provided);
    Provide support to the audit and tax teams, respond to queries;

    Assist in compliance reporting to lenders, government, partners (training will be provided); These are only some of the things we'd like you to bring to the table.

    A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience; real estate industry experience is considered a strong asset.
    Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
    Experience with JD Edwards an asset.
    Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, plan ahead, commit and deliver within the set time frames.
