- Must have Current General Class (Practicing) Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Completion of CNA Certification in Neuroscience is an asset
- Recent related working experience in an ambulatory and infusion clinic setting required (Neurology Clinic, Immunology Clinic, Immunodeficiency Clinic, MS clinic etc.)
- Recent and proven experience in nursing patients with MS and neurological conditions (preferred)
- Current BLS Certification is required
- Current IV certification required
- Must have IV therapy, venipuncture, and blood transfusion experience
- Strong evidence of Quality Improvement implementation, including BPG implementation, in nursing practice
- Must have ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with other professions/disciplines in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills (documentation on the Electronic Medical Record)
- Proven planning, time management, organization and coordination skills
- Excellent attendance record

The Barlo MS Centre at St. Michael's Hospital brings together the best of clinical care and research in one setting. The team provides exceptional, patient-centered care in a collaborative and integrated manner. An inter-disciplinary team of neurologists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, neuropsychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, neuropsychiatrists, physiatrists, and administrative staff support our Centre. The RN will work collaboratively with the team, reporting directly to the Clinical Leader Manager. As a part of an academic centre, our team participates in ongoing research, quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary role of the RN is to provide holistic, evidence-based, culturally appropriate, patient-centred quality care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards and SMH's mission, vision, values and policies. The RN optimizes the patient's experience and care outcomes by:
