The initial salary for this position will start at the beginning of the listed salary range with the opportunity to advance up the pay grid in annual increments. An eligibility list may be established.

PURPOSE OF POSITION


As Destination BC's Marketing Coordinator, you directly coordinate Destination BC's complex, cross-functional, and high-profile global marketing programs, with a focus on planning, organizing, and coordinating the direct-to-consumer activities that play a key role in driving visitation demand for British Columbia as a tourism destination.

Organizing, coordinating and collaborating are second nature to you, and your experience working on marketing campaigns with diverse, cross-functional teams towards a common goal has given you strong relationship-building skills.

Your knowledge of digital marketing channels and tactics and experience working with creative assets means you are comfortable providing direction and feedback to others on how to tailor content and advertising creative to best reach and motivate potential visitors as part of an integrated marketing campaign.

You pride yourself on your ability to prioritize and deliver upon tasks in a fast-paced environment, while juggling multiple deadlines.


You work with our Marketing Specialist to ensure that our global consumer marketing programs are executed on time, on budget, on brand, and on strategy.

Success in this role requires experience in direct-to-consumer marketing, strong organization, attention to detail and communication as well as collaboration with Destination BC's internal teams, agency partners, and a variety of external contractors.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinates the production, delivery and distribution of high quality, onbrand digital and traditional advertising creative assets and content for paid, earned and owned marketing channels and marketing campaigns. This includes writing ad production briefs as well as messaging and imagery selection for a variety of tactics such as digital advertising, video, web properties, native content, social media, etc.;
  • Plans, implements, and delivers assigned portions of a project as a formal project team member; works with the Marketing Specialist in development of formal project documentation (e.g. project charter, project plan, status reports, timelines/Gantt charts, budget trackers, etc.);
  • Coordinates and provides feedback and direction to external digital and creative agencies and/or internal teams on advertising plans and creative;
  • Ensures Destination BC brand strategies and standards are effectively and consistently adhered to in all marketing programs;
  • Manages project execution timelines to ensure all deliverables and content assets are being supplied to agencies and vendors on time; tracks project activities, monitors project parameters and reports out on project scope, time, costs, risks, quality, communications, procurement, and integration with other projects.
