Job Title:
RF Designer / RF Engineer
Job Purpose:
The RF Designer / RF Engineer will provide engineering, design, project estimating, and project support capability for Cartels interests.
The position will provide skilled expertise for RF engineering efforts, from pre-sales to design development to site deployment support.This role reports to the Vice President of Engineering.
Note:
The RF Engineer title is reserved for individuals registered with an engineering regulator in Canada (e.g. EGBC, PEO, OIQ, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and optimizing wireless networks, including for public safety applications, commercial cellular, and/or LMR radio systems.
Produce design deliverables, including technical studies, technical drawings, equipment specifications, and RF link budgets.
Interact with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical support in addressing and resolving issues related to coverage solutions.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge and stay apprised of technical advancements in the industry as well as bylaw changes.
Coordinates the technical information flow relating to specific projects and proposals.Maintains the quality of work in accordance with Cartels Quality Management System.
Contribute to continuous improvement by defining and improving engineering processes and workflows.
Skills and Knowledge:
Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering or RF Engineering; or equivalent work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in public safety, commercial cellular and LMR radio systems and network design.
Minimum three (5) years of experience in using iBwave software.Minimum one (1) year of experience in Distributed Antenna System design and optimization.
Working knowledge of RF principles, including indoor propagation.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Strong ability in MS Office toolset.
