Tundra has an opportunity for an
HR Coordinator (18-month term).

This role will ideally be based in Tundra's
Virden, Manitoba office; however, is open to be based out of Winnipeg, MB or Calgary, AB.

The incumbent in this role will be eligible to participate in Tundra's hybrid work schedule.


The HR Coordinator will be responsible for the daily responsibilities including recruitment & selection support, new hire onboarding, legislative compliance, policies administration, and training and development support.

Provide HR services and support to the Director, Human Resources, the Managers, and employees.

  • Assist in the recruitment process which specifically includes:
  • Posting job vacancies internally and externally.
  • Conduct prescreen interviews
- schedule recruitment interviews as needed by the hiring manager and HR partner.
- conduct reference checks.
- prepare job offers.
- manage the recruitment regret process for all recruitments.
- prepare monthly and quarterly reports based on hiring data.

  • Support the hiring and coordinator of summer student program.
  • Organize the employee new hire onboarding process which includes:
  • preparation of the employee packages.
- schedule the various onboarding departmental requirements/times (HR, IT, Safety, Vehicle - if applicable).
- arrange for pre-employment screening (if safety sensitive position).

  • Assist in conducting the onboarding sessions.
  • Updating the orientation material as needed.
  • Assist in managing all HR internal checklists (New Hires, Consultant's New Hires, Terminations, and Promotions/Transfers/Changes) and the identified recruitment reports:
  • Provide reports on exit interview data quarterly
  • Be a primary survey monkey account holder for confidential HR support
  • Support all training requirements:
  • Partner with administration team to arrange logistics such as training location, catering, and materials
  • Import employees' HSE monthly training into HRIS.
  • Routinely enter completed employee Professional Development/Training forms into HRIS from SharePoint PD/Training Workflow system.
  • Enter all HR & Safety arranged employee training into HRIS provided monthly by Health & Safety.
  • Distribute, collect and summarize all course evaluations.
  • Manage the monthly probationary review process for all locations.
  • Oversee all requirements of the Operator Competency Check List. Work closely with Production Superintendent to ensure Foreman complete the timely review requirements and provide the necessary paperwork.
  • Manage the Operator PFO training requirements online through SAIT

Includes:

completing new participant registrations, employees' waivers, tracking all course levels, verifying exam results, issuing certificates upon course completion, preparing and distributing course training bonus letters to employees and Payroll for payment, and reviewing and verifying invoices for the Director to approve and process.


  • Create and maintain all new electronic employee personnel files for all locations.
  • Create and maintain company organizational charts.
  • Post employee announcements on company intranet.
  • Assist in the preparation of a variety of employee and HR correspondence.
  • Assist in Human Resources Information System (HRIS) maintenance, data entry, and report writing.
  • Regular maintenance of the List of Safety Sensitive positions documents any time a job description is assessed or modified.
  • Distribute to the managers, the quarterly vacation/banked time and exception reports once prepared by the Director.
  • Provide interdepartmental HR support to other HR team members as required.
  • Provide research assistance on any HR related items.
  • Minimum 2 years Human Resources experience
  • Education is Human Resources such as a diploma or a degree.
  • Prior oil and gas production and exploration knowledge and experience is considered an asset.
  • Prior HRIS experience is preferred. We currently utilize ADP's Workforce Now.
  • Results focused with ability to work independently and productively under time pressures.
