We are a progressive and modern institution, responding to the needs of current and future students and implementing the best technology solutions to empower our work.

We prioritize diversity, open doors to those often overlooked, welcome new Canadians, and provide pathways to successful careers.

Yorkville Education Company (which manages both Yorkville University and the Toronto Film School) began with a simple idea in 2004: offer flexible, rigorous, and career-focused degrees on campus and online to people who are on a purposeful path.

With campuses in Ontario, British Columbia and New Brunswick, we equip our graduates with the professional knowledge, skills and designations that employers value.

Focused on providing a transformative, accessible and flexible higher education environment, our teams, from the President to the newest staff member, share a passion for learning, teaching, and growing as individuals and as teams.

We nurture an inclusive, supportive, and genuinely kind work environment at our three campus locations.

If you want to shine a light on academic excellence, be empowered to make an impact on the transformation of the Canadian post-secondary education landscape, and work collaboratively beyond levels, join us.

    Who we need

Our Faculty of Behavioral Sciences has started hiring for course openings in June 2024. We are seeking Adjunct/Part Time Professors to teach within our Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program. There will be training provided prior to being assigned a teaching schedule.

With an earned doctoral degree in Counselling, Psychology, or related field from a recognized university, and at least five years in the field of Counselling Psychology or a related profession, you will deliver university courses at the graduate level.

You will draw on the most recent research and practices in Canadian counselling and psychology, and demonstrate sensitivity and education in equality, diversity, inclusion and decolonization and its impact on the field and teaching.

This is a remote opportunity, using Moodle as an online delivery platform.

You will be asked to provide a current Clinical License along with Official Transcript from the Doctorate institution.

    What you will do

Teaching facilitating counselling psychology theory and skills courses
Fostering student success through ongoing support and coaching
Managing discussion forums and learning activities through the Moodle platform
Timely marking and feedback for all student assessments
Respond to student inquiries and concerns
Participate in University and Program level committees
Perform administrative tasks related to the course
Support strategic program growth and ensure ongoing self-development in the field

    What you bring

A conferred Doctorate degree in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or related field
Minimum of 5 years work experience in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or related field
    Active clinical practice license
Teaching experience at graduate level as well as experience using the Moodle online delivery platform is a strong asset
Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal

    What's in it for you

A transformative, accessible and flexible higher education environment
Working within a team that shares a passion for learning, teaching, and growing
Supporting highly motivated and engaged learners
An inclusive, supportive, and diverse work environment throughout our three campus locations

What you can expect from our interview process:

A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor discussing your experience and interest in the role and Yorkville University.

Following the interview, you will be required to submit your current Clinical License and an Official Transcript from your Doctorate institution.

An interview with the MACP Hiring Committee providing an opportunity to express your passion for teaching as well as an opportunity to ask further questions about the role and working at Yorkville University.

What does the best of all worlds mean at Yorkville University

The chance to accelerate your career and disrupt education by responding to the needs you see and purposefully challenging the status quo.

Everything we do here is about delighting and engaging our employees - and ultimately our students- from mentorship to teaching, from creative outlets to analytical ones.

A place where all individuals feel welcomed in the academic and workplace environments and can bring their authentic selves to the educational and work spheres.

We celebrate the full range of human diversity, and we acknowledge that equal access to opportunities and services may require the removal of barriers that equity-seeking communities experience in trying to obtain this access.

The opportunity to grow with access to free courses, certifications, and programs - right up to our Doctorate offerings.

An appreciation for the insights and skills you bring to work with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including a wide breadth of wellness services, and a work-life balance.
