Summary:

Provide support to the daily operations of the Distribution Centre with both practical and administrative approach. Lead and ensure all functions are completed and procedures are followed to ensure compliance with industry standards.


Essential Functions:


  • Primarily responsible for supporting stock activities (from receiving and put away to picktoship) while meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the incumbent will to the achievement of distribution objectives and the efficient movement of goods through the warehouse.
  • Spends approximately 60%70% of the workday performing warehouse tasks, assisting personnel, and resolving issues and 30%40% of the time preparing, analyzing and sending operational reports.
  • Ensures that all packaging material inventory levels are appropriate, and is stored accurately.
  • Ensures all safety precautions are observed and that employees work in a manner to prevent themselves from personal risk.
  • Acts as coordinator together with applicable warehouse supervisors to ensure EHS compliance, including SOOS monthly submissions.
  • Coordinates and verifies the continuous flow of information associated with coordinated steps in the Warehouse Management System (Tecsys) and Host systems used.
  • Manages warehouse equipment inventory, including all RF devices, desktop scanners, printers, computers, and toners. Work with third party support to resolve system discrepancies and schedule service when needed.
  • Support the introduction of new products, equipment, and processes.
  • Ensure the facility is appropriately kept clean and tidy in line with 5s principles.
  • Work with Supervisors to find opportunities to lean the process, eliminating or reducing waste and or nonvalue adding activities. Work with SME to develop and update SOP's when required.
  • To be accountable and responsible for all associated activities in the absence of the lead hands.
  • Flexible work schedule to support operations when running OT.
  • Ensure training for all staff is current and completed. (Practical and Theory)
  • Ensure all the C of A's and discrepant orders are completed each night to achieve 100% completion on OTS.
  • Embrace and undertake an active role in Practical Process improvement (PPI) and Operational Excellence and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and ideas.
  • Supports employees with all Quality System requirements including but not limited to ISO 9001 & 13485 and supports compliance to applicable Canadian regulations. Included in this is ensuring that any training needs are identified/documented and new employee documentation is completed for the Whitby facility. This also includes coordinating and managing compliance for the Equipment Calibration program for the facility and actively participating in all internal and external Quality & Customer audits representing the Distribution services support team and all associated functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:


  • High School Diploma or any other relevant certifications required for this role
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics or operations would be an asset.
  • Validated leadership skills and strong decision making skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of a Warehouse Management System is an asset.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel and Access).

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in distribution or related field.


Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
