Human Resources Assistant
12- month contract with benefits
We are looking for an HR assistant to work on a 12-month contract with us You bring good communication skills and a strong work ethic to work in a busy and energetic warehouse environment with responsibilities that include supporting and assisting the HR teams in Guelph and Mississauga.
This position will appeal to a junior human resources professional who is looking to gain overall HR experience and who enjoys support and coordination functions.

- Act as front
- Monitor and follow up for completion of all onboarding tasks
- Conduct new hire orientations; conduct exit interviews as required
- Draft various coworker communications confirmation of employment letters, general correspondence, etc.
- Assist with employee relations issues & escalate where needed
- Handle all nonoccupational workplace accommodations including completing and providing letters for approved temporary accommodations
- Oversee and update the HR Communication board
- Oversee access cards in Guelph
- Maintain the HR records and physical personnel files
- Assist with other special HR projects as determined by business needs
- May include some travel between Guelph and Mississauga
Your passion is sparked by:
- Minimum one year of human resources experience, supporting a busy Human Resources department, preferably on a national scope coupled with postsecondary education in human resources, or related program from accredited college or university
- Knowledge of Operations/ Warehousing is preferred as is working with an hourly workforce
- Good working knowledge of Canadian employment standards, Human Rights and Health & Safety regulations
- Business communication skills (verbal and written), including interpersonal and active listening skills
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and deadlines
- Core Competencies include communication and organization skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, customer service skills and integrity
- Valid G driver's license for occasional travel to Mississauga as needed
