Regional Settlement Coordinator**
Location: Gander, NL
Position Type:1 full-time position to March 31, 2024, with renewal pending operational needs and funding approval
Closing Date:

Reporting to the Manager of Satellite Offices, the
Regional Settlement Coordinator will be responsible for managing the satellite office in Gander as well as extending programs and services to newcomers provided by the Association for New Canadians.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide individual, family, and community support to clients considering individual needs and goals
- Provide information and referral to a wide array of community agencies, professional services, settlement, and social services, etc.;
- Collaborate with other employees, volunteers, and stakeholders to help identify and resolve any settlementintegration issues; and
- Record and compile accurate client statistics and accomplishments to include in monthly activity reports.
- Provide linkages to the local community including volunteer, sports and community associations and local schools
- Support clients with schoolaged children by linking them to school resources, building relations with schools, teachers, and administrators
- Engage the local community and businesses to support newcomer inclusion and integration
- Provide case management services based on needs assessments, information and referral, accompaniment, home visits, and followup to assist clients to live independently and integrate successfully
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years' relevant experience or any combination of equivalent experience and education
- Knowledge of specific issues facing newcomers and the ability to develop strategies for positive outcomes
- Strong organization, coordination, presentation, and communication (both written and oral) skills
- Precise attention to detail in report writing and compliance requirements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to address the changing needs of the environment and client group
- Ability to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external
- Experience developing goals, timelines, and delivery methods to achieve set objectives
- Passion for promoting diversity, workplace inclusion, and newcomer integration
- Experience report writing and meeting compliance requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Ability to travel is required.
- Valid class 5 driver's license and ready access to a reliable vehicle is required.
- Flexible to work outside of standard core hours (Monday to Friday 9am 5pm).
- Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
